Derek is such an incredible guide! He knows so much about whiskey, has a passion for it, and is really great at explaining things to less knowledgeable people. The tasting took place in a heritage pub in Dublin, and we all really enjoyed the experience and the setting! If you have a couple of hours, want to have fun, and also get a good understanding of this popular Irish drink, then search no further! This is a must do for you!
From start to finish Derek was energetic and had a wealth of whiskey knowledge like no one i have met before. I have been to a number of whiskey tasting experiences in the past but none come close. Derek has pure passion for whiskey and brings you through the whiskey story connected to each brand but also adds in some history. Highly recommend for anyone interested in having a real whiskey experience.

Five Stars! Derek gave a whiskey sampling for us at Palace Bar in Dublin. We were a group of U.S. firefighters in Ireland to march with the Dublin Fire Brigade on St. Patrick’s Day. The Brigade set this up (thanks Declan!) and not only was it fun but also very informative. Derek walked us through different types and regions of good grain and everyone enjoyed. Would absolutely recommend!
This is a really unique tasting experience. It’s small group so you can ask lots of questions, and Derek is really knowledgeable. You also get to taste some really different whiskeys and the experience is super fun! Can’t recommend it enough.

We booked the classic whiskey tasting at the Swan Bar for my husband, my 19 year old son and myself. We were so glad we did, it was one of the best experiences of our entire trip! Derek is incredibly knowledgeable and fun, we felt we were sharing cocktails with a friend. We are whiskey novices and learned so much! It was a truly great time, and the Swan Bar was beautiful and welcoming. Just book it! You’ll love it!

We enjoyed a flight of 6 whiskeys showcasing Ireland’s diversity. Derek’s unmatched knowledge, wit, and passion made the experience unforgettable—far from commercial tours. The two hours flew by, and it was the weekend highlight for everyone. Definitely 5 stars!
